Through the fates of the heroines - Zhenka, Tamara, Lyubka and Vera, the creators of the play depict a terrible vicious circle from which it is impossible to escape. The play `The Pit` is not only a story about a brothel, but also a powerful social statement about life `underground`, the lack of women's rights and public indifference, which is realized with brilliant theatricality that will not leave anyone indifferent.
