Balzac is a prudent and wise dog. An unusual name for a dog, but the latter has an undeniable literary flair, and going against the facts is a fruitless endeavor. The author tried to look at a person through the eyes of an animal - a dog. Questions and not so comforting consequences are inevitable - is not an animal sometimes more intelligent than a man? Maybe the latter just usurped his lofty title of rational being? And does intelligence, which is a prerequisite for the creation of our species, allow us to unconditionally deserve the boundless devotion and loyalty of our four-legged friends?
